About Us

Our Story: From Brazil to the Carolinas

Humble Beginnings

The story of JoyCafé began long before it had a name, in the quiet countryside of Brazil. It started with my grandfather, a humble farmer who cultivated coffee with immense patience and heart. As a child, I grew up in my grandparents' backyard, where coffee trees were a part of everyday life. I watched the ripe cherries dry under the sun, helped sift them by hand, and learned to roast them to the perfect point. Those moments, sharing a warm, fragrant cup filled with memories and love, shaped my coffee connection long before I understood its true meaning.

A Journey of Faith

Years later, my wife, daughters, and I embarked on a new chapter that led us to the Carolinas. Leaving our home in Brazil was more than just a move; it was an act of faith and a direct command from God. We arrived in South Carolina with a sense of dedication and the hope of building a better future for our family. The Lake Wylie (LKW) region welcomed us with a generosity and kindness that made it feel like home from the very start.

A Community That Carried Us

In the midst of building this new life, our family faced an unexpected and serious challenge: my wife was diagnosed with a serious illness. In that difficult season, we were reminded of what truly matters, being present, staying united, and being grateful for those who reach out to help. The Carolinas reached out. Our community surrounded us with compassion and strength, becoming a lifeline when we needed it most.

Our Mission & Purpose

Between the humble backyard of my grandparents in Brazil and the generous heart of the Carolinas, JoyCafé found its purpose. We exist to be more than just a coffee brand.

  • Our Vision: To create meaningful connections rooted in faith, family, and the journey God has written for us.
  • Our Mission: To roast authentic Brazilian coffee with simplicity and gratitude, ensuring every person who tastes it feels the care and the story behind each bean.
  • Our Commitment: To honor our roots, support our family with dignity, and give back to the community that stood with us.

We believe that God uses ordinary things, like a cup of coffee, to open doors for conversation, healing, and community. Each bag we roast carries a message of hope and the belief that no one walks alone.

From Brazil to the Carolinas. From my family to yours.
